Facility Overview
The Columbus Street Terminal in the Port of Charleston, South Carolina, handles non-containerized cargo. It occupies 155 acres, with about 10 acres devoted to the wharf and the remaining acreage reserved for storing cargo. It primarily handles roll-on/roll-off and breakbulk cargo. The terminal has a berthing length of 3,500 linear feet and an alongside depth of 45 feet. It has three post-Panamax cranes for its five berths. The facility has on-dock rail services, including boxcars and vehicle-transport railcars. CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads provide the rail service.
