North Carolina’s Port of Morehead City is about 100 miles north of the Port of Wilmington and four miles from the Atlantic Ocean. It is a general cargo port handling break bulk, roll-on/roll-off products, and bulk shipments. It has nine berths with 5,366 linear feet of wharf frontage. Its water depth is 45 feet. The facility has a portable gantry crane and occupies 128 acres with another 150 available for development. It has one million square feet of covered storage and 43 acres of paved storage. The port has access to major interstate highways and on-dock rail service through Norfolk Southern.
