Kansas City Southern’s Intermodal terminal in Wylie, Texas, opened in 2015 and was expanded three years later. It has an annual lift capacity of 342,000, making for more efficient cargo movement. The current working track capacity is 19,000 feet. It has 1,800 wheeled parking spaces and 300 container stack locations. With 362 acres, the facility has room to expand. Located 10 miles east of Plano and less than thirty miles north of Dallas, the intermodal terminal provides rail service to north central Texas. It has the resources to offer containers and trailers on flat cars. A 2023 merger between Kansas City Southern and Canadian Pacific railways has extended rail services from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Mexico City, Mexico.
