Facility Overview
The Jefferson Energy Terminal sits on the east bank of the Neches River in Beaumont, Texas. The 250-acre site is accessible by ship, truck, and rail. The terminal has five connecting pipelines to refineries throughout the region. Jefferson Energy is currently constructing a new storage facility to house 1.9 million barrels of oil. Once the project is complete, the second phase will begin increasing the total storage capacity to 6.2 million barrels. Its present capacity is 4.3 million barrels in heated and unheated storage for crude oil and refined products. The terminal offers two marine docks and six rail loops for access to three carriers — Union Pacific, Kansas City Southern, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. The terminal services the ExxonMobil Refinery Complex.

- Individual: Possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Must be on the port’s “Authorized Access List” All vehicle drivers must present a valid state driver’s license and show proof of vehicle insurance All vehicles must display a current state vehicle registration sticker
- Vehicles: Tank truck unloading system for handling locally-sourced crude Dedicated service overpass directly from Interstate-10 into the terminal Two crude unloading stations are able to accommodate up to four tank trucks per hour Crude unloading capacity of over 8,500 barrels per day with the ability to expand Ethanol truck loading capable of loading 20,000+ barrels of ethanol per day
