Facility Overview
Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is home to the Florida International Terminal. The terminal rests on 46 acres and handles container and breakbulk cargo. It contributes to the 763,000 TEUs that the port processes per year. A project to widen and deepen the navigational channels from 42 feet to 50 feet is scheduled for completion in 2025. This project will enable cargo ships to pass cruise ships docked along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Florida International Terminal (FIT) is a joint venture of two Latin American firms.
