Facility Overview
The Port of Tampa Container Terminal is Florida’s largest container facility, processing 33 million tons of cargo annually across its expansive 5,000-acre footprint. In houses five gantry cranes, including two Panamax automatic dock cranes, and 66 berths. Currently, it is undergoing expansion with an additional 30 acres under construction. It handles a diverse array of cargo, including high and heavy equipment, steel, project cargoes, Ro-Ro, forest products, and containers. The terminal also serves as a major shipyard-ship repair center, fertilizer export port, energy product gateway, and a major cruise homeport, reinforcing its pivotal role in the region’s maritime industry.
