Facility Overview
Pier E is home to the Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT), that recently completed a redevelopment project. The project was designed to reduce pollution through more rail service, less trucking, and electrical power for docked vessels. LBCT occupies berths E24-E26. The wharf length is 4,250 feet, and the alongside depth is now 60 feet. The channel was dredged to a depth of 70 feet as part of the redevelopment. The terminal has 14 cranes and covers 304 acres. It has a rail car capacity of 216 with on-dock rail services. It has 2,250 reefer outlets to support its containerized cargo.
