Kansas City Southern merged with Canadian Pacific in 2023, creating the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway or CPKC. The merger establishes a transport network that stretches from Vancouver, British Columbia, to America’s heartland. The Kansas City facility sits on 356 acres of an abandoned military airport outside of Kansas City, Missouri. The area is under development as an industrial park. The terminal performed 47,580 lifts in 2022; however, it can support 96,000 lifts at full capacity. It has 8,000 feet of working track. The terminal supports containers on flat cars (COFC), trailers on flat cars (TOFC), and automobile distribution. It also serves as a gateway into Mexico.
